- ItemLuxury Residential Palace(2020) Abd Alhadi, Omar; Khalaf, Abeer; Barri, Khaled; Dwaikat , Dr. LuayThe plans for this building are designed in the city of Jenin – Palestine. This building is located on a land area of 3283 square meters, on a main street 12 meters to the southeast and a secondary street 6 meters to the northeast. It has a longitude of 35°14’20” N and a latitude of 32°30’35” E at an altitude of 291 meters above sea level. The external architectural form of this U-shaped building is surrounded by an open swimming pool (without a roof). The building is divided into 3 sections: the bedroom’s section (to the southwest), the reception and guest rooms section (to the northeast), and another section that overlooks the terrace. Also, there are 3 Domes, plus two wind towers. The work included modifications and additions to the building that supported integration and sustainability. Architectural aspect modifications, first increased the height of the building to create enough space for the HVAC system. Also adding another shape of the staircase which is a lightweight aluminum door where it is placed diagonally in the direction of opening to the outside to avoid effect on building appearance. The environmental aspect: The wind towers were closed because the weather was not suitable for its principle and thus had no effect on the thermal loads, as it was supposed to contribute to cooling the building. Also, adding solar cells was sufficient to cover the building's consumption. But the amount of energy used to heat the swimming pool was large, so a geothermal system was added, as there was enough space on the site. The building became dependent on natural and environmentally friendly energy sources during its operation. The mechanical aspect when draining the pool water is used to irrigate the plants, and the rainwater was collected in a water tank. The cost of the building was within the budget estimated in first project. Total cost is 1861000 ILS and unit cost = 3350 ILS/m2 Which include all system used.
