Abstract

Background: Urinary tract infection is an infection affects part of the urinary tract involving the upper or the lower urinary tract; Urinary tract infection does not every time cause signs and symptoms, it may be symptomatic or asymptomatic if the urine contains a significant number of bacteria (10⁵ CFUs/1ml) but there are no symptoms, this condition is known as asymptomatic bacteriuria. ASB during pregnancy can enhance the complications like pyelonephritis, prematurity, and low birth weight Objectives: To determine the prevalence of bacteriuria among pregnant females booking at Ramallah Governmental Hospital/Palestine as well as the most common causative for ASB. and the antibiotic sensitivity patterns of bacterial isolates.To determine the relation between the ASB and risk factors; socioeconomic level, personal hygiene, and other factors.
