Measuring the Implementation of TQM Concepts in Northern West Bank Governmental Hospitals

Abstract
The quality is one of the most important issues that should be consider in organizing any type of organizations and the health care organizations are fertile areas for quality. There are many procedures should be taken in order to achieve a high quality level in health sector and one of the most important procedures is the implementation of the TQM principles.This research aims to measure the implementation of the TQM principles in governmental hospitals of the northern West Bank cities; Nablus, Tubas, Jenin, Tulkarm, Qalqilya and Salfeet.Our research consists of six parts. The first part talks about an introduction of the TQM and the TQM principles' implementation and its situation in Palestinian governmental hospitals and the objectives of the research and the scope. The second part talks about the obstacles that we may face in the implementation of our research. It also considers talking about the courses that help us in this study. The third part is about the previous studies about the TQM implementation in service sectors generally and the health sector especially. The fourth part is about the methodology and the procedures took in the project. It considers talking about the size of the sample and the hypothesis we depend on and the questionnaire.The fifth part is talking about the analysis of data and the results we had in the project. The sixth part considers talking about the conclusion and the recommendations and some advices we recommend to the decision takers in the Palestinian Ministry of Health.The study concludes to the necessity of implementing the principles of the TQM in the Palestinian Governmental Hospitals in order to provide a better medical service and to meet the patients satisfaction. It also concluded many results that the most important one was there are no statistically significant differences with the sample for all the dimensions except the seventh one, the leadership. It was shown from the research that there is a misunderstanding for the respondents about three dimensions, which they are the patient focus with a percentage of 33.9%, the employees involvement with a percentage of 33.9% and the process continuous improvement with a percentage of 42.9%.
