| dc.description.abstract | "Dreams Against Bullets” was created because bullets cannot kill the birds — because no shell can erase a dream, and because within every person in Gaza lies a soul filled with hope and dreams that deserves a sanctuary to embrace and inspire it . The project represents a transformative approach to addressing the psychological challenges faced by the Gazan community. It does not only treat individuals, but also seeks to revive the exhausted human spirit under the weight of occupation and decades of continuous trauma that have recently reached their peak. It envisions a haven for creativity and healing, where architecture, art, and technology are used as unconventional therapeutic tools to break the stigma surrounding mental health. In this space, pain is transformed into creativity, and every wound becomes art — documenting and immortalizing this era of suffering and resilience. This research explores the impact of armed conflict on mental health in Gaza, and examines how creative therapy can serve as a means of psychological and social rehabilitation. It builds upon global studies and case analyses, presenting an architectural vision for a therapeutic center in Rafah, along the Philadelphi Corridor — one of the areas most affected by the conflict and most in need of a supportive environment for recovery. Here, in the heart of a fertile natural setting that fosters sustainability, not only a building is constructed — but a journey is built toward restoring dignity, freedom, and the dream of a better future. | |
