dc.description.abstract | Page | 5 Abstract Foundation is the most important part of the building as it provides a uniform base for the superstructure and transfers the load of the same down to the soil below it uniformly therefore This project aims to analyze and design the suitable foundation system for the commercial mall located in Nablus - Rafidia Street. Many important aspects will be covered in the project, such as project description, hypothesis- Goals and objectives, main assumptions and proof of results. The project was implemented in two parts, in the first part, the data was analyzed using Excel and ETABS and finding the loads on each column. Then the dimensions of the bases were found at the bottom of each column by dividing the load of the column by the bearing capacity of the soil obtained by examining the soil. Finally, the bases were drawn on AutoCAD and the distances between each base and the other were noted to make a decision on the appropriate type of base that should be used Based on the existing loads and observations made from the AutoCAD drawing, the suitable foundation for this building is a mat foundation. programs such as ETABS and SAP2000 are based on the latest updated global structural codes, such as ASCE7-10, ACI 360-16, etc. At the end of this project, the base adopted using the ETAPS program is designed based on the specifications of the mentioned codes. | |
