Abstract
Construction materials are the raw materials available in nature, and rarely used as it is, but dealing or shift somehow to be valid for the purposes of construction some are like clay, stone, wood, sand converts in a way and the costs of simple and some are as steel and aluminum make deviation more complex and high costs .It is known that the construction materials is the main entity of any engineering work such as buildings, bridges, roads and other, so engineer with different specialization and the work done, he must deal with building materials in all the steps to create a work of engineering and maintenance .It is intended construction materials that materials used in engineering work such as cement, aggregates ,iron ,water mixing ,Admixture and others such as stones, bricks, lime, gypsum, etc . We must therefore check all of these materials to make sure the life span and resistance to time (Durability) and resistance to earthquakes and explosions, and resistance against the influence of water, carrying stresses different (compression, tension, link, cut) and coefficient of impact of the ruins of fine and coarse. we have dealt with in this project, a definition of basic construction materials, types and methods of installation, access and impact (Admixture) and some laboratory tests on the properties of some basic building materials
