This study begins with a definition of “al-rahim” (blood relations) linguistically and technically. “Rahim” is derived from al-rahman (the beneficent). It also reveals the secrets of relationship between the two terms and the reason for deriving them from the name of Allah. Then the study sxplained that the name of Allah “al-rahman” is exclusive for Him only. It is also derived from “al-rahma”. Finally, the paper refuted the claims about the origin of this name that it is not derived or that it is loaned from Hebrew and it reveals the difference between “al-rahman” and “al-rahim”.en
