Abstract
Our project aims to design the foundation of multy storey building in Nablus city. This project includes six chapters, where this introduction titled under chapter one. Briefly, chapter 2 talks about the literature review of soil mechanism; foundations, their types, shapes, uses, and properties. Chapter 3 talks about the geotechnical condition of the site, including the result of soil report test. Chapter 4 talks about the descriptions of loads building and its structure, and descriptions of loads on the footing. Chapter 5 is handling with the structural analysis of the building that includes the table of loads affecting the footing using tributary area method. Chapter 6 is the important part of this project; it handles with analysis, design, and settlement calculations of mat, and pile foundations.Chapter 7 is handling with the analysis, design of mat foundation using PROCON program.Chapter 8 discuss the results of the project; and it gives recommendations of what are the proper kinds of foundations to be used.
