Abstract
The world nowadays is facing considerable environmental problems. One solution proposed for these problems is to go with Environment Friendly buildings. This solution will make the world able to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the natural environment, use energy, water, Sustainable construction, and other resources efficiently, protect health , improve employee productivity, decrease waste, pollution and environmental degradation. The aim of this project will be applying the principle of going green in order to design residential unit as greenhouses. The basic principle of these buildings is to use technology to become resource-efficient by exploiting the benefits of renewable energy sources with small negative impact on the environment as possible, such as solar energy, wind power, geothermal land, as well as biomass, i.e., the energy resulting from the degradation of biological material, such as the decomposition of plants or animal waste. One of the most intelligent features of these buildings is that they are designed to reduce energy consumption to minimum. Consequently, energy needs can be accurately estimated, depending on the number of people making use of the building. Thus, electrical and mechanical energy efficiency is improved and no energy will be wasted. Environment Friendly buildings refer to the structure, using processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle. Green building is connected with sustainability which is the need for survival and well-being depends on the natural environment under the conditions which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations. To achieve this in the project, many steps should be considered begins with determining the land that having an area approximately equal 1000 m2 to design houses with area of building approximately equal 188 m2 considering building codes in Palestine and Regulations. Then the step of design will include the environmental design which includes the solar design and possible way of treatment for wastewater generated from the house. At the end step of construction, maintenance process comes; since the project is experimental this step will be considered later. We are all hopeful that the development of these energy-saving techniques will serve to mitigate the effects of climate change, improve quality of life.
