| dc.description.abstract | The Vertical Farming Center project represents an innovative vision aimed at addressing the agricultural challenges facing Palestine, such as the shortage of arable land, scarcity of water resources, and rapid climate change. The project relies on vertical farming techniques that allow for crop production in vertical spaces using hydroponic and aeroponic systems, significantly reducing the consumption of natural resources while .increasing crop productivity The project aims to achieve a range of goals, most notably enhancing local food security by improving agricultural production efficiency and reducing reliance on traditional methods, which have become less effective under current environmental conditions. It ,also seeks to integrate modern agricultural technologies with architectural design creating a functional and attractive environment that supports the project’s economic and .environmental sustainability The center is composed of several main sections, including designated areas for vertical cultivation equipped with advanced technologies to improve crop quality and efficiency. It also contains storage and processing units that help reduce waste and extend the shelf life of agricultural products. In addition, the project includes research and development laboratories dedicated to studying improvements in vertical farming methods, as well as educational spaces designed to raise awareness and educate individuals and communities about the importance of this technique and its role in achieving food .security The project holds significant importance not only in addressing local agricultural challenges but also as a model for sustainable projects that combine technology with architecture. By reducing water and energy consumption and offering innovative agricultural solutions, the project contributes to minimizing negative environmental impact .while providing economic and social opportunities for the local community Despite the many benefits the project offers, it faces several challenges, such as high initial costs, the need for advanced technologies, and the training of qualified personnel capable of efficiently operating these systems. However, overcoming these obstacles will enable Palestine to become a leading example in adopting advanced and sustainable .agricultural solutions The Vertical Farming Center aspires to be a pioneering model that reflects technological advancement in the agricultural sector by offering innovative and sustainable solutions .that contribute to building a better future for coming generations | |
