The effect of using K-W-L strategy in the achievement of fifth-grade students in reading and their attitudes towards it's learning in public schools in Nablus

| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study is to explore the effect of an educational program based on K-W-L strategy in acquiring the reading skills of the fifth grade students in public schools within Nablus Governorate. The main question of the study tries is as follows: What is the effect of the K-W-L strategy on acquiring reading skills on the fifth grade students, and their attitudes towards reading using this strategy in the schools of Nablus Governorate? The population of this study consists of female students in the fifth grade within Nablus governorate, with a sample of (61) students from Yasser Arafat’s elementary school split into 2 groups, Experimental and control. The experimental group was taught using the K-W-L strategy, while the control group was taught using the traditional methods. An educational program based on K-W-L strategy to develop the reading skills was designed to achieve the goals of this study, the researcher has carried out an achievement exam that measures the reading skills and the students’ attitudes towards learning this skill, the validity and reliability of both tools was confirmed and certified. The data have been analyzed using (ANCOVA), the results have revealed that there are statistical differences at the level (α =0.05) in the mean grades of the experimental group, and the control group in the achievement of reading skill and the attitudes towards learning the reading skill, the study also highlighted a relation between the achievement and the attitudes towards learning the reading skills among the fifth grade students. The researcher has recommended doing more researches and initiatives around this strategy comparing it with the traditional methods on a wider scale including more different grades and topics, and conduct training sessions for teachers to ease and smoothen the process of applying such strategies. | en |
| dc.description.abstract | هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة فاعلية برنامج تعليميّ مستند إلى استخدام استراتيجية K-W-L في تعلم مهارة القراءة لدى طلبة الصف الخامس الأساسيّ في مدارس محافظة نابلس الحكوميّة، وتحديداً حاولت الدراسة الإجابة عن السؤال الرئيس الآتي: "ما أثر استخدام استراتيجية (K-W-L) في تحصيل طلبة الصف الخامس في مهارة القراءة واتجاهاتهم نحو تعلّمها في المدارس الحكومية في محافظة نابلس؟" تم استخدام المنهج شبه التجريبي في هذه الدراسة, وقد تكون مجتمع الدراسة من طالبات الصف الخامس الأساسي في مدارس محافظة نابلس، وتألفت عينة الدراسة من (61) طالبة من مدرسة ياسر عرفات الأساسية، وتم تقسيمهن إلى مجموعتين تجريبية وضابطة، إذ درست المجموعة التجريبية باستخدام استراتيجية K-W-L، في حين درست المجموعة الضابطة باستخدام الطريقة التقليدية. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم تصميم برنامج تعليميّ مستند إلى استراتيجية K-W-L في تنمية مهارة القراءة، كما أعدّت الباحثة اختبارا تحصيليّاً يقيس مهارة القراءة ومقياساً للاتجاهات نحو تعلّم القراءة، وقد تمّ التأكد من صدق الأداتين وثباتهما. وحللت البيانات باستخدام تحليل التباين الأحادي المصاحب (ANCOVA)، ومعامل ارتباط بيرسون، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05=α) بين متوسطي درجات طلبة المجموعة التجريبية ودرجات طلبة المجموعة الضابطة (الطريقة التقليدية) في اختبار تحصيل مهارة القراءة ومقياس الاتجاهات نحو تعلم القراءة. وأظهرت النتائج أيضا على وجود علاقة ارتباطية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين التحصيل الدراسي والاتجاهات نحو تعلّم القراءة لطالبات الصف الخامس الأساسي. وقد أوصت الباحثة إجراء المزيد من البحوث حول هذه الاستراتيجية مقارنة بالطريقة التقليدية على التحصيل في صفوف ومواد دراسية مختلفة حتى يتم تعميمها بشكل أكبر، وعقد دورات تدريبية للمعلمين من أجل تطبيق مثل هذه الاستراتيجيات بسهولة ويسر. | ar |
