Abstract
Inventory management is crucial to the survival of any company. It’s the most important element in the supply chain management. An effective inventory management will reduce cost, speed up fulfillment, and prevent fraud. This project covers a study on the National Carton Industry (NCI) Company aimed at evaluating the current inventory management system and finding the optimal system suited to their factory. Accordingly, we collected the necessary data from the factory and started analyzing them and using them to come up with crucial inventory indicators and information, like forecasting of the demand, EOQ, ROP and safety stock. After that, we calculated the total amount of annual savings that will result from implementing the optimal inventory management system. Finally, we studied the current layout of the raw materials warehouse and did an improved version of it that reduces the needed time to retrieve items from the warehouse.
