dc.description.abstractThis study aimed at determining the styles of conflict used by the directorate of Education Head Divisions in West Bank/ Palestine. The researcher has used the "Thomas- Kilanan mode" instrument " which is translated into Arabic by AI-Bawwab (1986) to answer the questions of the study. This instrument consisted of thirty paragraphs and each one has two statements. The conflict styles are: competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding and accommodating. The instrument consistency was made sure of through testing retesting. The population of this study consisted of all (176) Directorates of Education Head Divisions in West- Bank/ Palestine: (Jerusalem Directorate, Jerusalem Suburbs, Rarnamllah/ Al- Beirch Bethlehem, Hebron, South Hebron, Jericho, Nablus, Jenin, Qabatiah, Tulkarrn, QalqiIiah and Sal feet). After Distributing the instrument to the population of the study and gathering information; means, standard deviations and percentages were calculated and the study questions were answered. The results showed the following: Conflict management styles (collaborating, compromising and avoiding are commonly used by Directorates of Education I-lead Divisions in West- Bank/ Palestine and the percentage for their responses was over 5%, while competing and accommodating were not considered among the common styles used, that is the percentage of responses for then was less than 5%, The styles form more to less were as follows: Compromising, collaboration, avoiding, accommodation and competing ant the findings showed the following. There is a difference among males and females head divisions regarding to the preference of conflict management styles in favor of females head divisions on competing, collaborating and avoiding, and in favor males head divisions of compromising and avoiding styles. There is a difference in conflict management styles among Directorates of Education Head Divisions in West-Bank! Palestine due to their scientific qualification. Competing and collaborating were the most ones to be preferred and used among the B.A and M.A holders. Compromising, avoiding and accommodating styles were more used by the (B.A or less) holders. There is a difference in conflict management styles among Directorates of Education Head Divisions in West-Bank! Palestine due to the District variable. There is a difference in conflict management styles among Directorates of Education Head Division in West- Bank! Palestine due '.' to marital status variable. Collaborating, compromising, accommodating were the most used styles among the married people compared with ummarried. Competing and avoiding styles were the most used by unmarried people compared with the married. In the light of the finding of the study, the researcher concluded a set of recommendations about conflict management in the administrative facilities for the Ministry of Education in Palestine.en
