| dc.description.abstract | The Arabic Words “Iblees” and “Shaytan” should have different connotations. The paper gives a detailed analysis about whether the word “Iblees” has an Arabic, Greek, or Other origin. By the same token, the etymology of the word “shaytan” is then discussed. After that, it tries to establish semantic relations between them. It concludes that “Iblees” is a proper noun. Whereas “Shaytan” is an attribute for “Iblees” and whoever resembles his features or deeds. Finally, it provides a complete glossary of the terms following the form “if’eel” and the form “faya’al” along with their meanings. | en |
| dc.description.abstract | لكل من كلمتي (إبليس) و (الشيطان) في اللغة دلالة خاصة. وهذا البحث يقدم تحليلاً وافياً لكلمة (إبليس) وأصل اشتقاقها أعربية هي أم يونانية الأصل أم غير ذلك. كما يحلل كلمة (شيطان) ويبين أصل اشتقاقها اللغوي، ثم يفصل القولَ في علاقة الكلمتين إحداهما بالأخرى من وجهة دلاليّة، وينتهي إلى أن (إبليس) عَلَمٌ شخصي، وأن (الشيطان) صفة له، ولغيره ممن يحمل صفاته ويفعل أفعاله. وبعد ذلك يقدم معجماً وافياً بالألفاظ التي وردت على صيغة إفعيل وصيغة فَيْعال، ومعنى كل منها. | ar |
