dc.description.abstractIntroduction: It is common to have a paramedic in an unexpected birth. There are not enough studies about experience of paramedics in caring of women getting birth outside the hospital or about the outcomes related to this event. Aim: This study aimed to explore the experience of paramedics in providing care for women giving birth outside the hospital; also, to see paramedics knowledge about birth and to know how they actually deal with women’s and their babies. In addition to, what the outcomes for both mothers and babies. Methodology: Qualitative interview was adopted in this study using semi structured interview. Study was conducted in two Palestinians cities (Ramallah and Nablus), with 10 paramedics working in Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC) were participated in this study. Result: In this study, Five main themes have emerged: (1) Knowledge and skills. (2) Cause of birth outside hospital, which includes (3) Facilitiers and barriers in providing health care. (4) Complications after giving birth. (5) Psychological status of mother and health care provider. Conclusion: The results of the study demonstrated that many of Palestinian women had give birth outside the hospital. The main causes were lack of awareness about childbirth, political military checkpoints, deficit of knowledge about labor and delay in going to hospital. These causes had significantly negative effects on paramedics experience in providing health care. Recommendations: The study should be as a focused group and increase sample size. For improve practicethere should be a policy gives the paramedics enough opportunity to enter the labor departments and apply the process of delivery on doll until the practice, ensure that there is an expert paramedic in birth with any new paramedic is employed even if he was a volunteer previously and make training for paramedics how to deal with emergencies in birth. For education it is necessary to educate the paramedics about the mechanism of internal examination because of its importance in assessing the state of childbirth, and ensure circulated the examination to all the paramedics as a medical policy for the woman's health and avoid any risks.en_US
