dc.description.abstract | The problem of a polaron in a quantum slab-like confinement is retrieved using a modified LLP approach. The proposed modification is intended to interpolate between the strong and weak-coupling limits of the problem. It is found that the binding energy increases with decreasing thickness of the slab as well as with increasing coupling constant. The polaronic effect becomes more important with decreasing thickness of the slab. | en |
