| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this research is to study the scope of the Editor-in-Chief criminal responsibility for press and publication crimes, due to the crucial role being played by press in society in terms of enlightening people's minds and removing confusionح about many issues. In spite of the great importance of press and the international and local protection of its rights of expression, there is a criminal responsibility for violating and exceeding the limits determined by law. The target of this thesis is to answer the main question about the extent of the Editor-in-Chief criminal responsibility for press and publication crimes. To answer the above question, researcher has divided this thesis into three main chapters. First chapter is an introduction about press and publication crimes. Second chapter discusses the criminal basis of the Editor-in-Chief responsibility for press and publication crimes. Third chapter addresses the cases of dropping the criminal responsibility from the Editor-in-Chief for press and publication crimes. At the end of this study, researcher has reached several conclusions; the most important one is that the Palestinian law made the Editor-in-Chief personally responsible for the crimes committed in his newspaper, along with the persons mentioned by the legislator. Researcher also concluded that there are some cases where the Editor-in-Chief responsibility for press and publication crimes is dropped. In the conclusion, she also mentioned some important recommendations related to this subject, the most important one is the topics that formed a dispute of jurisprudence or some topics which were not addressed by the legislator. Especially, the ones addressing the identification of the restricted publicity cases and the assumed responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief. | en_US |
