dc.description.abstractA cinema hub that caters for the politically active cinema called “third cinema” that accompanied revolutions in colonized countries. Inspiring Palestinian filmmakers to start the Palestinian cinema unit -later called institute- in the 1970’s to communicate about the active revolution of Palestinians. The need for this project arises from the increasing demand for cultural and creative spaces that can support artistic and educational activities especially in the northern west bank region. This research explores the development of cinema through history and its role as a social place. While acknowledging the role colonization and censorship plays in controlling what people think and find entertaining. A Case study of similar successful projects provided valuable insights into the design, functionality, and operational strategies that contribute to their success. Then the selected site for this project has been analyzed based on its accessibility, cultural significance, and environmental impact, ensuring it meets the community’s needs. In the last chapter, the project program outlines the required spaces, operational standards, and design considerations necessary to create a functional and sustainable facility.
