dc.description.abstractDesign of Water Tank Foundation Water tank are as any structures that should have foundation. Moreover, the foundation of water tanks should be studied carefully, any problems in the foundation, such as, settlement, differential settlement, failure in soil strength will lead to serious sequences in the water tank. This project will review the types of water tanks and their corresponding aspects, such as shapes, analysis and structural loads. In this project a specified water tank will study and analyzed to get the load on the foundation. Then the foundation of the tank will be designed. In this project, we will consider three types of foundation soil that the tank will rest on. The soil type and bearing capacity are as follows: 1-strong soil (Allowable bearing capacity 350 kN/m2). 2-medium soil (Allowable bearing capacity 200 kN/m2). 3-weak soil (Allowable bearing capacity 150 kN/m2). At the end comparisons will be made with the results of foundation for all three soil types and the relation will be made regarding the type of soil and cost.en_US
