A sewage and water network will be designed in this graduation project for a region lies in the east of Nablus. The importance of design a sewage network lies in protecting the environment by preventing air pollution, water pollution and the spread of diseases. On the other hand, water network provides water for the residents in the area to meet their needs, improve their hygiene and facilitate their lives. The project involves data collection and analyses for the area.  Data to be collected will include population data, topographic data and maps, water consumption and wastewater generation.  Layouts for the sewage and water distribution networks will be proposed with assumptions for the pipe sizing and locations of manhole.  Flow rates will be estimated from water consumption and population estimates.  The proposed networks will be analyzed using SewerCAD and WaterCAD.  Sizing of pipes for water and sewer networks will be adjusted and the simulation will continue until the proposed sizes meet the design criteria for velocities of flow.  Sewer network pipes will be designed to flow partially full.  The vertical location of pipes will be selected in a way to meet design criteria accepted by the municipality of Nablus.  Bill of quantities and cost estimates will be developed in accordance with the needs and guidance of the municipality of Nablus which will represent the beneficiaries from this project. The region which will be covered in this project lies between Rojeeb and Beet Fureek Street.  This is a new area that the municipality of Nablus is planning for urban development.  Thus, developing the infrastructure for this area including wastewater and water network are highly needed.  Developing the infrastructure will encourage people to start constructing their houses in the area and converting it to an urban suburb of Nablus.                  God mentioned water in His Holy Quran and this shows the great importance of water in the life especially for the humans. Since 75% of the human body is composed of water, it is important to deliver water to humans in continuous and healthy way and it is also important to dispose the waste water in a safe manner that will not affect the human life negatively. Although Palestine has relatively good water resources, but because of the political situation and the occupation forces that dominated the water and control the quantity of water utilized by Palestinian, there is a shortage in the amount of water available for the use of the Palestinian people. Water sources in Palestine vary from surface to underground sources, depending on hydrologic and geologic factors such as Rainfall, Evaporation, Surface runoff, Groundwater, Infiltration, aquifers and natural springs. Water sources in the Palestinian territories are limited to two main sources; the first is groundwater where water is extracted from wells and untapped springs, the second is the water purchased from the Israeli water company (Mekerot). As a result of domestic and industrial consumption of water, wastewater is produced and it must be disposed in a safe, healthy and environmentally sound way.  This requires the establishment of sewage network to collect wastewater instead of using traditional methods especially those involve utilizing cesspits that cause environmental degradation and groundwater pollution.   Progress of time and technology has increased human needs for water, so the permanently presence of water became necessary. Dependence is no longer mainly on cisterns placed next to the houses or nearby springs. Humans became dependent on networks that provide them with healthy water free of any pollutants and containing minerals in suitable concentrations which are useful for the human body. Thus, disposing waste water in a healthy and safe way became more important. The goal of this project is to design a water network and sewage network for an area in the east of Nablus which is Rujeib new suburb. Currently this area is uninhabited and has no buildings yet and therefore water and sewage networks are not designed for this region.  The Municipality of Nablus is interested in planning the infrastructure for this area to transfer it into a new urban area of Nablus.  This project is intended to prepare the design plans for the water and sewage infrastructure which will be needed to serve the area.  Thus, the project will assist the municipality in preparing infrastructural plans for this area and in estimating the costs needed for implementing such infrastructure.  In the end, local residents of the area will benefit from the project as they start building their homes in this area especially after constructing the proposed infrastructure.en
