Abstract
Elixir: A Healing Oasis and Remembrance
The project envisions Elixir, an oasis based in Palestinian nature and culture, where it would revitalize, respect, and expand the heritage of healing traditions and medicinal. Situated on the hillside of a natural park, the project follows as a linear route through the land, with the land representing the passage of time past, present, and future.
Visitors pass through terraced gardens, pedagogy spaces, and research centers and end up at the archive and seed bank, every room telling the story of endurance and harmonious coexistence with the planet. The building takes on a rule of "silent partnership," joining the ground softly, keeping trees, respecting natural paths, and engaging the senses.
Elixir is a symbol of the healing spirit extracted from the ground a witness to Palestinians' unbroken relation to land, and to determination to tend to life and memory in the face of displacement. This sanctuary is as much a working research center as a cultural expression of healing, resiliency, and hope.
