dc.description.abstractThis device uses two ultrasonic sensors to determine if a person entered or exited a room, thereby determining the occupancy value over time. The microcontroller tabulates the data and continuously has the current occupancy value on hand. The transmitter takes this information and wirelessly sends it to a receiver, which can then be viewed on a display through a RS-232/MAX-232 conversion protocol. Each component discussed thoroughly, as well as the corresponding tests and measurements necessary for a functional device. Our design decisionsways to improve the product, as well as costs, are also well documenteden
