Abstract
This thesis aims to study and analyze mercy and punishment in the Quranic verses according to linguistic argument theory.
The thesis consists of an introduction, a preface, 3 sections, and a conclusion.
The introduction talks about the development of linguistic studies and the previous linguistic Argumentation theories and their relation to this thesis. The preface explains integrated pragmatics and shows its relation to linguistic Argumentation. The section discusses the Quranic Argumentation discourse especially those related to mercy and punishment.
The first section of this theses clarify the first elements of linguistic argumentation which are concerned with the argumentative factors and the relations.
Also, the second chapter come up with to analyze another example on another element in the linguistic reasoning, which is the argumentative sequences. Thus it nominated some perspectives of mercy and torment, and analyzed it depending on what the argumentative sequences suggest.
And for the third chapter, it speaks about the argumentative scrounging of verses about mercy and torment, pointing out to its ability in arguments guidance of the verses. Afterwards, the paper finalized with a set of analytical samples that give a full explanation of the elements in the linguistic reasoning that was mentioned it the previous chapters.
Finally, the conclusion addressed the pointing out results of the study.
