| dc.description.abstract | The main idea of the Courts Complex project is to create a huge building that reflects the prestige and dignity of the judiciary through its magnitude and stability, which also reflects the stability of the laws. This was done by using huge and simple basic blocks such as cubes to give a sense of the law clearness in addition to its prestige and dignity, the other idea is to show transparency of the legal process by using large areas of glass. Mashrabiya and motifs were also used to give beautiful shades inside the building and to break the deadlock and boredom in it. Symmetry was used to reflect the balance that gives a feeling of equality and justice. The project was divided into two main blocks that represent the administrative part and the judicial part. They gather around a central space that represents the project axis and its distribution point on the project spaces. The two parts are connected to each other by means of bridges that represent the movement of the judges from the administrative part of the judicial part and vice versa as they represent the private entrances of the accused and completely isolated from the public users. The project contained three entrances: a general entrance for the public users, which is the prominent and essential entrance to the building, where it directly enters the central space where there is reception and information, and from it they move to the court halls in the judicial part, which consists of four floors on each floor, four trial halls, one floor that contains courtrooms. The beginning is followed by a floor that contains the conciliation halls, followed by a floor containing the criminal court halls, and the last floor contains the court of appeal. The other entrance to the judges is behind the project and is isolated from view to provide privacy for the judges and employees, as they enter directly into the ten-storey administrative wing containing staff offices, judges, clerks, fingerprinting rooms, investigation rooms, archives, public prosecution offices, court complex management, the library, staff rest, and special places for prayer. Directly linked to the administrative wing is a smaller block overlooking the central space, which includes traffic lanes, elevators, stairs and public facilities for the general user. The last entrance for the accused, which is a hidden side entrance in the bridges that connect the two parts, from where they move directly to the courtroom through their own corridor, isolated from the corridors of the public, or they move to fingerprinting rooms and other rooms in the administrative part through special corridors. | en_US |
