THE VALUES OF CITIZENSHIP INCLUDED IN THE PALESTINIAN ARABIC LANGUAGE TEXTBOOKS FOR THE FOURTH AND FIFTH PRIMARY GRADES

Abstract
This study aims to identify the values of citizenship included in the textbooks of the Arabic language for the fourth and fifth primary grades. The study follows a descriptive analytical methodology, and represents the study population and its' sample in the Arabic language books for the fourth and fifth primary grades, in their first and second parts. To achieve the study goals, a content analysis card was prepared on the values of citizenship included in the textbooks of the Arabic language for the fourth and fifth primary grades. The tool's authenticity was confirmed by presenting them to a group of arbitrators to consider their suggestions as part of the analysis. Also, the tool's stability was confirmed by using the method of stability through individual that was measured using Holste formula. The study reached the following results: that the values of citizenship included in the Arabic language books for the fourth and fifth grades are political, social and economic values, and the Arabic language books for the fourth grade contained political values (42.5%) followed by economic values (31.7%), then values social ratio (25.8%). While the Arabic language books for the fifth grade contained political values (52.7%), followed by economic values by (26.11%), then social values by (21.2%), the values of economic and social citizenship appeared in varying degrees. In light of the results, the researcher recommended paying attention to strengthening the Arabic language curricula with the values of citizenship and enhancing it among students because of their essential role in shaping the student’s personality and contributing to the renaissance and liberation of peoples. the need to achieve a balance between political, economic and social values, and employing the sub-citizenship values for political, economic and social values was stressed as well.
