The Ultimate Plural Form in Lisan Al-Arab Lexicon: A Study in Semiotics and Word Derivation

Abstract
The research studies and analyzes a major topic in Al-Jumu' in Arabic syntax which is the ultimate plural form in Lisan Al-Arab Lexicon. The research studies this issue semantically and morphologically through extracting examples from the book and their implications. It also addresses a number of related linguistic issues depending on the Descriptive, Analytic and Inductive Approach. The study has been divided into a preface, introduction, three chapters and a conclusion In the preface, the researcher provided a general study of the ultimate plural form, in which he explained its definition and discussed the opinions of previous scholars and linguists regarding this issue, According to the phrases that's follow. Then he talked about the most important patters of the ultimate plural form fifth and sixth along with explanation of the formation of each one through giving examples for the purpose of further illustration. The first chapter included a dictionary of the most important patterns of the ultimate plural form fifth and sixth that occurred in Lisan Al-Arab book. He also organized those patterns alphabetically, explained their meanings, and provided a linguistic evidence – if any- for each pattern which is documented from its original source. The second semester included two topics, The second topic include statistics the ultimate plural form some examples and seplling in Lisan Al-Arab Lexicon. Also the second subject, the researcher discussed the definition of Semantic Fields Theory and its meaning as well as the most important relationships within each field. He also divided the ultimate plural form that occurred in Lisan Al-Arab according to their implications into twenty semantic fields, along with some minor fields for further illustration. The third chapter focused on the discussion of a number of linguistic phenomenon and issues that are related to The Ultimate Plural Form in Lisan Al-Arab such as: Homonymy (Al-Mushtarak Al-Lafthi), Synonymy (Al-Mushtarak Al-Ma'nawi), Al-Mu'arrab (Translated into Arabic from other languages) and non-Arabic words (intruder words), I'lal as well as voice disagreement, Dissimilation, Different in sound (Phonetics), Upset of Phonetics place, Double plural, And some plurals don't have singular Phonetics. He finally explained the reasons behind the insertion of the feminization (h) in The Ultimate Plural Form. The researcher concluded the study with a conclusion in which he talked about the most important aspects that the study has discussed in addition to the most important results it reached.
يَتَنَاوَلُ هَذَا الْبَحْثُ بِالدِّرَاسَةِ وَالتَّحْلِيلِ مَوْضُوعًا رَئِيسًا مِنْ مَوْضُوعَاتِ الْجُمُوعِ فِي الْعَرَبِيَّةِ، وَهُوَ مَوْضُوعُ صِيَغِ مُنْتَهَى الْجُمُوعِ فِي مُعْجَمِ لِسَانِ الْعَرَبِ، وَدِرَاسَتُهَا دِرَاسَةً صَرْفِيَّةً دِلاَلِيَّةً مِنْ خِلاَلِ تَنَاوُلِ مَا وَرَدَ فِي اللَّسَانِ مِنْ تِلْكَ الصِّيَغِ، وَتَوْضِيحِ دِلاَلاَتِهَا وَآحَادِهَا، مَعَ بَيَانِ مُنْصَرَفِ تِلْكَ الدِّلاَلاَتِ، إِضَافَةً إِلَى مَجْمُوعَةٍ مِنَ الْقَضَايَا اللُّغَوِيَّةِ ذَاتِ الصِّلَةِ، وَذَلِكَ وَفْقَ الْمَنْهَجِ الاسْتِقْرَائِيِّ التَّحْلِيلِيِّ الْوَصْفِيِّ. وَقَدْ جَاءَتْ هَذِهِ الرِّسَالَةُ فِي ثَلاَثَةِ فُصُولٍ إِضَافَةً إِلَى التَّمْهِيدِ وَالْمُقَدِّمَةِ وَالْخَاتِمَةِ. فَقَدْ اشْتَمَلَ التَّمْهِيدُ عَلَى دِرَاسَةٍ عَامَّةٍ لِصِيَغِ مُنْتَهَى الْجُمُوعِ فِي الْعَرَبِيَّةِ، إِذْ بَيَّنَ الْبَاحِثُ -وبِإِيجَازٍ- الْمَقْصُودَ بِتِلْكَ الصِّيَغِ، مُعَرِّجًا عَلَى آرَاءِ الْقُدَامَى وَالْمُحْدَثِينَ فِي ذَلِكَ، كَمَا أَشَارَ إِلَى الْمُسَمَّيَاتِ الَّتِي لَحِقَتْ بِهَا، ثُمَّ تَنَاوَلَ أَبْرَزَ صِيَغِ مُنْتَهَى الْجُمُوعِ الْخُمَاسِيَّةِ وَالسُّدَاسِيَّةِ فِي الْعَرَبِيَّةِ، مَعَ تَوْضِيحِ شُرُوطِ صِيَاغَةِ كُلٍّ مِنْهَا، مَشْفُوعَةً بِأَمْثِلَةٍ لِلتَّوْضِيحِ. أَمَّا الْفَصْلُ الأَوَّلُ، فَقَدْ اشْتَمَلَ عَلَى مُعْجَمٍ لِمَا وَرَدَ فِي لِسَانِ الْعَرَبِ مِنْ صِيَغِ مُنْتَهَى الْجُمُوعِ الْخُمَاسِيَّةِ وَالسُّدَاسِيَّةِ، ثُمَّ رُتِّبَ بِحَسَبِ أُصُولِ تِلْكَ الصِّيَغِ تَرْتِيبًا أَبْتَثِيًّا، مَعَ تَوْضِيحِ مَعَانِي تِلْكَ الصِّيَغِ وَبَيَانِ آحَادِهَا، مُسْتَشْهِدًا عَلَيْهَا بِشَاهِدٍ لُغَوِيٍّ -إِنْ وُجِدَ- مُوَثَّقٍ مِنْ مَصْدَرِهِ الأَصْلِيِّ. وَجَاءَ الْفَصْلُ الثَّانِي فِي مَبْحَثَيْنِ، تَنَاوَلَ الْمَبْحَثُ الأَوَّلُ إِحْصَاءَ صِيَغِ مُنْتَهَى الْجُمُوعِ وَأَلْفَاظِهَا وَشَوَاهِدِهَا فِي مُعْجَمِ لِسَانِ الْعَرَبِ، أَمَّا الْمَبْحَثُ الثَّانِي، فَقَدْ تَنَاوَلَ تَعْرِيفَ نَظَرِيَّةِ الْحُقُولِ الدِّلاَلِيَّةِ وَأَهَمِّيَّتَهَا، وَأَهَمَّ الْعَلاَقَاتِ الَّتِي تَرْبُطُ بَيْنَ الْحَقْلِ الدِّلاَلِيِّ الْوَاحِدِ، ثُمَّ قَسَّمَ مَا وَرَدَ مِنْ صِيَغِ مُنْتَهَى الْجُمُوعِ فِي مُعْجَمِ لِسَانِ الْعَرَبِ بِحَسَبِ مُنْصَرَفِ دِلاَلاَتِهَا إِلَى خَمْسَةَ عَشَرَ حَقْلاً دَلاَلِيًّا، مَعَ تَفْرِيعِ بَعْضِهَا إِلَى مَجْمُوعَاتٍ دِلاَلِيَّةٍ فَرْعِيَّةٍ؛ بُغْيَةَ التَّوْضِيحِ. فِي حِينٍ خُصِّصَ الْفَصْلُ الثَّالِثُ لِتَنَاوُلِ بَعْضِ الْقَضَايَا وَالظَّوَاهِرِ اللُّغَوِيَّةِ الَّتِي تَتَعَلَّقُ بِصِيَغِ مُنْتَهَى الْجُمُوعِ فِي مُعْجَمِ لِسَانِ العَرَبِ، وَهِيَ: الْمُشْتَرَكُ اللَّفْظِيُّ، وَالْمُشْتَرَكُ الْمَعْنَوِيُّ (التَّرَادُفُ)، وَالْمُعَرَّبُ وَالدَّخِيلُ، وَالإِعْلاَلُ، وَالمُخَالَفَةُ الصَّوْتِيَّةُ، وَالإِبْدَالُ الصَّوْتِيُّ، وَالْقَلْبُ الْمَكَانِيُّ، وَجَمْعُ الْجَمْعِ، وَالْجُمُوعُ الَّتِي لاَ مُفْرَدَ لَهَا مِنْ لَفْظِهَا، وَفِي النِّهَايَةِ تَحَدَّثَ الْبَاحِثُ عَنْ عِلَلِ دُخُولِ هَاءِ التَّأْنِيثِ عَلَى صِيَغِ مُنْتَهَى الْجُمُوعِ. ثُمَّ انْتَهَى الْبَحْثُ بِتَوْفِيقِ اللهِ تَعَالَى بِخَاتِمَةٍ تُلْقِي الضَّوْءَ عَلَى أَبْرَزِ مَا فِيهِ، وَتُلَخِّصُ أَهَمَّ النَّتَائِجِ الَّتِي تَوَصَّلَ إِلَيْهَا الْبَحْثُ، ثُمَّ بَيَّنَتِ الْجَدِيدَ الَّذِي قَدْ أُضِيفَ إِلَى الدِّرَاسَاتِ السَّابِقَةِ.
