A historical Linguistic Attempt for Understanding the Variability of Manner ('Al-Hay'ah الهَيْئَة) and Circumstance ('Al-Ḥaal الْحال) In Arabic

Abstract
The study addresses one of the complex topics in Arabic Grammar as the researcher attempted in this study to answer several questions only addressed by a small number of scholars working in the field of teaching Arabic as a foreign language. This issue is mainly concerned with some structural linguistic problems in practical Arabic as used both on the theoretical and practical levels. Despite their significance, these issues are still absent from scholars' interests in practical Arabic field as seen in language and grammar textbooks. The main object of this study is to use the structural linguistics and historical linguistics to explain the conformity between the structures referring to Manner (الهيئة) and Circumstance (الحال) in Arabic. Why do we find the following structures being used hand by hand in Arabic: (فَتَحَ الْبابَ مُسْرِعًا), (فَتَحَ الْبابَ فَتْحًا سَريعًا), (فَتَحَ الْبابَ سَريعًا), (فَتَحَ الْبابَ بِسُرْعَةٍ), and (فَتَحَ الْبابَ بِشَكْلٍ سَريعٍ)? Another question we are trying to answer is: what are the specified structural needs that led to the generation of each of those manners (هَيْئات) whether it was nominal or verbal?
يَقَعُ هذا الْبَحْثُ مِنْ نَحْوِ الْعَرَبِيَّةِ في منْطقَةٍ شَديدَةِ الْغُموضِ وَالتَّعْقيد، حَيْثُ يُحاوِلُ فيهِ صاحِبُهُ أَنْ يَتَلَمَّسَ إجاباتٍ لأَسْئِلَةٍ مُتَكاثِرَة لا يَتَوَصَّلُ إِلى طَرْحِها في الْعادَةِ إِلّا نَفَرٌ مِنَ الْمُشْتَغِلينَ في مَيْدانِ الْعَرَبِيَّةِ لِلنّاطِقينَ بِغَيْرِها دَرْسًا وَتَدْريسًا وَتَأْليفًا. تَدورُ الأَسْئِلَةُ الْمَقْصودَةُ أَساسًا حَوْلَ قَضايا لُغَوِيَّةٍ تَرْكيبِيَّةٍ تَتَبَدّى لَنا في نَحْوِ الْعَرَبِيَّةِ الْعَمَلِيِّ مِنْ خِلالِ سَيْرورَتِها الْفِعْلِيَّةِ عَلى الأَلْسِنَةِ وَالأَقْلام، وَمَعَ ذلِكَ فَهِيَ قَضايا غائِبَةٌ غَيْبَةً كامِلَةً عَنِ التَّوْصيفِ الْمُباشر في نَحْوِ الْعَرَبِيَّةِ الْعِلْمِيِّ كَما يَمْثُلُ لَنا في كُتُبِ النَّحْوِ وَاللُّغَة. وَيَتَوَسَّلُ الْبَحْثُ بِاللُّغَوِيّاتِ التَّرْكيبِيَّةِ وَاللُّغَوِيّاتِ التّاريخِيَّة، بُغْيَةَ تَفْسيرِ تَسايُرِ التَّراكيبِ الْمُفْصِحَةِ عَنِ الْهَيْئَةِ وَالْحالِ في اللُّغَةِ الْعَرَبِيَّة: فَلِمَ نَجِدُ التَّراكيبَ الآتِيَةَ ذائِعَةَ الاسْتِعْمالِ جَنْبًا في الْوَقْتِ نَفْسِه: (فَتَحَ الْبابَ مُسْرِعًا)، وَ(فَتَحَ الْبابَ فَتْحًا سَريعًا)، وَ(فَتَحَ الْبابَ سَريعًا)، وَ(فَتَحَ الْبابَ بِسُرْعَةٍ)، وَ(فَتَحَ الْبابَ بِشَكْلٍ سَريع)؟ وَما الْحاجاتُ التَّرْكيبِيَّةُ الْمَخْصوصَةُ الَّتي أَفْضَتْ إِلى تَوْليدِ كُلِّ هَيْئَةٍ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْهَيْئات سَواء كانَتْ هَيْئَةً اسْمِيَّةً أَوْ فِعْلِيَّة؟
