Abstract
EvenTok is a Mobile Application that focuses on creating an electronic environment
for students’ communities to create events by determining its time, speakers, subject
and reserving a suitable hall then publish it and supported material that must be
studied by attendees. for students also to reach out all the events organized by any
student’s communities, interact with the published event, follow community, chat
with another users either community or student in An-Najah National university
without the need to go in a cumbersome search in media like Facebook’s event
pages. Moreover, a web application that is used by Students Office to control the
application by publish the available halls with the time, delete user or event.
The mobile application is built with ReactNative library in Visual Studio
Code framework whose based on JavaS cript programming language, while the
website is built using React. Additionally, two types of databases is used which
are MongoDB and Firebase. Node.js was used to build the server of the project
as back-end. Specific algorithms with less complexity is used to implement some
parts of the project like: calculated time of the messages in the chat and the find
the exact remain time of the event in days, hours, minutes and seconds as a count
down. Our project is developed by following Waterfall model from analyse the
requirement to design the system to implementation to testing then deployment
and finally maintenance.
As a result, EvenTok is going to be deployed for the students on Android and
iOS devices. Students and communities from different colleges in the old and new
campus create their own accounts by setting up their university’s id, university’s
email, photos and some personal information then controlling them from setting.
Some communities create their own account and their upcoming events from set-up
to clean-up. Students follow the communities they are interested in, join the events
they prefer and reached them from one place, get notified of the new events from
communities. Furthermore, students office officer provide the application with the
available halls and controlling it through EvenTok website.
