Abstract
The nursing practice environment has been defined as the organizational characteristics of a work setting that facilitate or constrain professional nursing practice.Stress is a common disorder in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients and is associated with serious short- and long-term consequences, including re-intubations, ICU readmissions, prolonged ICU.
This study aimed to investigate the impact of knowledge attitude and practice for stress for nurse among hospitals in Nablus city Hospital in ICU unit.
A Cross sectional descriptive design used to conduct this study. Self-administrative questionnaire was used to collect the data. The study was conducted at Palestinian hospitals in Nablus. The total number of nursing staff used in this study were (67) distributed in different hospitals private in Nablus.
The result indicated that prevalence of stress among ICU staff nurses is high. The ICU is a highly stressful environment, not only for patients and relatives but also the ICU nurses. The primary aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of stress and its level among ICU staff. Significant correlations between problems in workloads and hospital environment was found in ICU staff. This may be due to the hospitals do not hire enough number of nursing staff and they do not the international guideline for the hospital enlivenment.
