Abstract
Project: Private children's hospital / Capacity: 100 beds Location: On the road between Nablus and Tulkarem I have chosen this project because of the absence of this type of specialized health services, although the children make up about half of the community. In the West Bank there is only one specialized hospital in Bethlehem (Caritas Private Hospital). The site, which was chosen at an average location between the cities of Tulkarm and Nablus, is also easily accessible from the cities of Jenin and Qalqiliya, making it a convenient location to serve the northern region of the country. Concept: The idea of treatment must be frightening and repugnant to the child, especially when it includes being away from his family and the home he is used to for a few days at a time, and in a strange place associated with pain and illness. My the first priority was to create an exhilarating inner environment in which the child would feel safe and secure. So I chose to isolate the children inside the hospital from the surrounding environment by focusing on opening up to the interior and creating a natural, fun and colorful look that the child feels happy and comfortable in. As well as the addition of colorful indoor playrooms spread out throughout all the floors, with view of the interior for the children who may not e allowed to go out due to their health condition. Emphasis was also placed on the separation between nursing and nursing areas by changing the colors and shapes used in the interior design, as it helps to separate them visually. Design: Contrary to what is common in the design of hospitals, I separated the building into small scattered blocks connected by glass bridges and corridors. The division depends on the function so that the functions linked to each other directly by bridges or elevators. The building is divided into main services areas: medical services (radiography - laboratories), emergency department and its own surgery room, outpatient clinics, cafeteria, physiotherapy department, reception and accounting, management, nursing suites, service areas. The building has a main entrance leading to the reception area, another to the emergency department, a side entrance to the parking lot and directly to the outpatient and physiotherapy departments. A special entrance leading to the anatomy and laundry section, and a final dedicated to stores and services.
