- ItemPSYCHOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF A LIST OF PSYCHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT INDICATORS AND THE LEVEL OF PREVALENCE OF BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS IN MIDDLE CHILDHOOD IN PALISTINE(جامعة النجاح الوطنية, 2022-07-21) Al-Adawi, FatenThis study aimed to build two lists of psychological development and behavioral problems characterized by appropriate psychometric characteristics, and to reveal the level of psychological development among children of middle childhood (6-9 years) in Palestine, and to reveal the level of prevalence of behavioral problems in children, and the study aimed to examine the interrelationships of manifestations of growth Psychological and behavioral problems, in addition to examining the effect of some demographic variables on both aspects of psychological development and behavioral problems. The study followed the descriptive analytical and correlative approach, and it was conducted in two stages. In the first stage, the validity of the two tools was verified through the use of analysis. The exploratory factor, and in the second stage, the stability of the factorial structure was verified through the use of factor analysis, and the study community consisted of all Palestinian children, and the researcher chose an accessible sample of Palestinian children. The sample was (386) children. From the exploratory factor analysis, four pure factors emerged in the psychological growth scale that explained (55.39%) of the variance ratio. All factors had latent roots more than one true. These factors included cognitive growth, social development, linguistic growth and emotional growth, and with regard to the behavioral problems scale; It was found that there were five pure factors that explained (65.59%) of the variance ratio, and all factors had latent roots more than one true, and these factors included verbal aggression, physical aggression, social anxiety, stubbornness and rebellion, fear, and in the stage of confirmatory factor analysis and after adjusting the two standard models For a list of psychological development and behavioral problems; All indicators of congruence indicated that the two standard models were accepted and had factorial validity. The results indicated that some demographic variables of the sample affect the estimation of the manifestations of psychological development and behavioral problems among Palestinian children. The Z-standard values on the psychological development scale ranged between (-2.81 to 2.02), and the T-standard values ranged between (21.93 to 70.22), and the percentage of children suspected of suffering from psychological development problems was approximately (23%) of the total sample, and the values ranged from The Z-standard on the behavioral problems scale ranged between (-1.61 to 3.58), and the T-standard values ranged between (33.94 to 85.78), and the percentage of children suspected of having a rise in behavioral problems was approximately (30%) of the total sample. The study recommends resorting to the methods of factor analysis, both exploratory and confirmatory, when building new measurement tools, provided that the measurement tools are based on a solid theoretical basis.
