Antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of B. lancifolium

Abstract

Methods: Antioxidant activities of four plant fractions were evaluated by DPPH scavenging assay, while the antimicrobial activity was assessed by broth microdilution method. The antimicrobial activity of four plant fractions was examined American Type Culture Collection reference strains. Results:The results showed antibacterial and antioxidant activity for the studied plant extracts. Further investigations (isolation, identification, and clinical assessment) of the active compound(s) are needed for the possible formulation of new therapeutic alternatives.
