PackSort Automated Package Sorting System By: Baker Razi Wael Yaeesh & Mohammad Maher Mohammad Himuni Project Supervisor: Dr. Abdallah Rashed 1.7.2013 1 ‹#› Key Project Objectives Package Identification Physical Sorting Versatile Sorting Modes Dual Control Safety & Diagnostics Power Efficiency 1.7.2013 3 ‹#› Significance & Impact Addressing a Critical Need Our Solution: Flexible Automation 1.7.2013 4 ‹#› Core System Functionality Multi-Parameter Sorting Categorizes packages by barcode, color, and physical dimensions. Distributed Control Arduino Mega as central CPU, with Arduino Uno for barcode processing. Mechanical Sorting Conveyor belt powered by DC wiper motor; servo-actuated pusher arms for diversion. Flexible Operation Seven different criteria combinations: size, color, barcode, or combined. 1.7.2013 5 ‹#› Microcontrollers Arduino Mega Arduino Uno ESP32 1.7.2013 5 ‹#› IR Sensors Ultrasonic Sensors Color Sensors Barcode Scanners Key Sensing Technologies 1.7.2013 1 ‹#› Actuators & Control DC Motors & Drivers Car wiper DC motor and BTS7960 driver control conveyor movement and speed. Servo Motors Microservo motors with wood sticks operate pushers for precise package diversion. Repurposed DVDRW Drive An old DVDRW drive acts as a cost-effective linear pusher for small items. 1.7.2013 7 ‹#› Actuators & Control Push Button The push button functions as an emergency stop, immediately halting all operations when pressed to ensure safety and prevent damage to packages or the system. DC Power Supply (ATX-P4) The DC power supply provides the necessary voltage and current t all components, ensuring stable and reliable operation. Relay Module (1 Channel) The relay module controls the DVDRW drive, allowing it to turn on/off and return to its original position after pushing a package. Local Control 1.7.2013 7 ‹#› Human-Machine Interface & IoT Remote Monitoring & Mobile App An ESP32 microcontroller enables wireless connectivity for remote monitoring and operation via a custom-developed Flutter mobile application. This app provides real-time package statistics and system status updates. 1.7.2013 8 ‹#› System Workflow: From Detection to Sort Initialization & Setup Package Detection Versatile Sorting Modes Data Collection Monitoring & Safety 1.7.2013 3 ‹#› Exterior Design Interior Design 1.7.2013 10 ‹#› Conclusions & Future Directions Future Work Weight Classification Advanced Barcode/QR Reading Enhanced Safety Features Smart, low-cost & reliable sorting machine Built with recycled parts + IoT mobile control Success: smooth serial communication 1.7.2013 10 ‹#› Thank You 1.7.2013 10 ‹#› image1.png image2.png image3.png image4.png image5.png image6.png image7.png image8.png image9.png image10.png image11.png image12.png image13.png image14.png image15.png image16.png image17.png image18.png image19.png image20.jpg image21.png image22.png image23.png image24.png image25.png image26.png image27.png image28.png image29.png image30.png image31.png image32.png image33.png image34.png image35.png image36.png image37.png image38.png image39.png image40.png image41.png /docProps/thumbnail.jpeg
