Abstract
This project is important because it helps all greenhouses owners in Palestine. Especially at critical times or if they are not familiar with the agriculture in greenhouses or not always free to take care of the plants. Where the irrigation will be automatically, also providing a heating and ventilation system and help distribute the fertilizer to the plants. Also, it saves time, manpower and effort on the farmer as he can track the system in the place he is and don't need to go to the greenhouse and irrigate the plant, also, It helps to rationalize the use of irrigation water and cost economically. In addition to create a suitable atmosphere for plants other than their seasons, and producing more crops in order to improve agriculture in Palestine. The goal of this project is to let the farmer to manage his greenhouse smoothly and to facilitate the farmer in watering various plants and create the suitable atmosphere for them to grow so When the farmer chooses the type of crop, the system will provide all necessary conditions for the growth of the agricultural crop inside the greenhouse in the best possible way. Through this project, the concept of smart irrigation system using internet of things is achieved, which is to water the plant with right amount of water only when it needed water by using IOT and depending on different conditions and sensors values. The farmers can even monitor and track the condition of the plant directly from of the website. We create an electrical circuit that contains sensors where the irrigation system will operate depending on these sensors values like temperature, soil and humidity where the system will processes the data from these sensors and based on the outputs, the irrigation process is switched on or off, also there is a heating and ventilation systems will operate when they are need .In other hand we will create a website for the farmer that can monitor and track the greenhouse conditions through it, and manage some features. also he will be able to do some actions in case there is a problem happened in the system. This project is an integrated system for using the Internet of things in agriculture . We used sensors to read some of the variables, which are temperature, humidity, soil moisture and the intensity of lighting and by using a wifi module( esp8266) We sent this data to a server called Thingspeak and later we read this data. We have also stored the status of the devices (fans, pumps ,LEDs, Peltier Module). On the other hand, through the website, we have enabled the farmer to choose the type of crop he wants to grow to determine the values and parameters of the humidity, temperature and soil moisture required to grow this crop and It turns on the devices automatically when needed, according to the values that are read from the sensors . At the same time, we have enabled the possibility of manually controlling these devices remotely, so that he can turn them on and off as he pleases if necessary. There are many benefits resulting from using such a project, including: • To maintain food safety and quality and improve production. • Avoid spreading the disease between crops and control the infection. • Promote irrigation and fertilization practices. • Reducing manual Intervention. • Maintaining an ideal climate for plantings. • Saving a large amount of water. • Monitor greenhouse conditions to develop new products in food growing. • Also, this system can be used to handle the hydroponic system easily. By the end this project presented to help the Palestinian community, it aims to help farmers and to facilitate them by providing an automatic system to control the greenhouse and a remote control system as it aims to Improving agricultural productivity by preserving the environment and a suitable climate for crops inside the greenhouse.
