Abstract
The project “Faculty of Architecture Engineering” designed by an architect student at AN-Najah National University. The main objective in this project is to evaluate the architectural design, and make modification if required to meet and fit more the scope that designed for.
Environmental aspects will be taking into consideration and to be solved. In addition, the concept of structural design of U-boot slab has been discussed in details. Also mechanical and electrical systems will be determined.
There are many challenges in this project like; heat load and cool load caused by curtain walls, diagonal columns, and long spans that adding more dedication to search in order to find the best solutions.
For curtain walls, double glazing system with 13 mm air gap and louver of slab with 2 m prominent out of building wall solve 80% of this challenge. For long slab, the U-boot slab system was a very good solution to solve the high deflection.
Finally, the creative design should be treated with creative solutions.
