Abstract
1.1 Abstract An-Najah national University seeks to develop and produce qualified human resources through the provision of high quality educational benefits. To ensure that this goal has been maintained over the years, the University has been an integral part of the development of local, regional and global markets. This is in order to build the personality of the leading student who has the knowledge, skills and abilities to start his own project and develop it, thus ensuring self-employment for him and others. Innovation and Entrepreneurship are important topics that the university is keen to implement in order to maintain its goal. Innovation: The process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that creates value or for which customers will pay. Entrepreneurship: is defined as a set of activities based on interest, provision, fulfilment of needs and desires through creativity and development, to advance in a given sector, or to manage new activity or work in a specific field. The project's main aim is to suggest entrepreneurship indices for universities, these indicators will be used to assess the level of entrepreneurship in the university, and to identify the weakness and strength points in order to improve the entrepreneurial performance of university. European excellence model was chosen as a reference in this project for its benefits. It has defined a guiding framework for Entrepreneurial Universities that help the universities to assess their performance. Also, it has defined seven main areas for entrepreneurship in universities and explained each one by defining its indicators. At the end of the project, we conclude that the following recommendations should be taken under confederation 1. The suggested indicators have to be reviewed by a higher committee at each university before adaptation. 2. An initial assessment should be carried out to identify strength and weakness points and a development plan should be adopted. 3. The suggested ranking system should reviewed as a flat rate was suggested for all indicators. 1.2 Purpose of the Project The project's main aim is to suggest innovation and entrepreneurship indices for universities. Another important objective of this project is to provide new tools and knowledge on the implementation and development of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the educational system, to promote and create a learning environment that leads the students to experiment Innovation and Entrepreneurship methods and practices, to share experiences of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in education, to create tools for communication, collaboration and team work, to provide educational tools for quality innovative educational pedagogies, and to empower the educational staff and promote their Innovation and Entrepreneurship programs. 1.3 Scope of Work This project focus on universities in order to help them to improve their performance by focusing on their weaknesses and strengths. 1.4 Significance of the Project The importance of the project lies in increasing the entrepreneurship oriented competition between the universities, to measure the performance of universities regarding the entrepreneurship, also to contribute the development of entrepreneurship indirectly and to Increase the probability of implementing students' projects on the ground. 1.5 Project Implementation Methodology 1. Literature Review. 2. Developing Entrepreneurship index 3. Developing Tools for implementing the index 4. Developing ranking and scoring system. 1.6 Report Structure In this report there are five chapters. The first one is the introduction, contains a description about the project. In the second chapter constraints, standards, codes and earlier courses that have been included in this study have been mentioned. The third chapter is literature review and data collected related to the report, then the followed methodology was involved in the fourth one, chapter five shows the conclusion and recommendation, followed by references and appendix.
