Abstract
According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of statistics, the Palestinian population have a continuously growing growth rate, the increase in numbers of people induced an increase in the number of facilities and traffic, and the need for cars consequently. That emphasized the importance of cars galleries in Palestine. Every community needs a special cars gallery that fulfills the needs and requirements for any car, furthermore, cars galleries provide a good opportunity for customers to choose the suitable car according to their requirements. In any cars gallery project there are three most important aspects that need to be considered; the architectural, the structural, and the environmental aspects. The architectural aspects explore the view of the building taking into consideration the functional distribution of the internal areas and all dimensions’ standards. The structural aspects consider the strength and serviceability of the building. The environmental aspects provide the required thermal, acoustical, and visual human comfort. The objective of this project was to re-design the building of the United Motor Trade Company in Nablus City, from all aspects; started with designing a new architectural model that fulfills the requirements of an integrated cars gallery design. Then, the building was designed according to the environmental aspects that provide the thermal, acoustical and visual comfort within the building. After that, the structural design that complied with the new architectural design of the building and also concluded the requirements of a safe structural design. Then, came the electro-mechanical aspects, these aspects afforded the proper electrical design that supplied the building with electricity power, and afforded a mechanical design that covered the air conditioning, water supply, drainage and safety requirements according to the mechanical design standards.
