Abstract
Tubas main street attends major traffic movement due to the large commercial and population activities, and because of its central location between Jenin, Nablus and Jordan Valley. it's considered as a link between those cities, causing traffic jams in the city center and that requires a practical solution, in order to reduce the large volume of traffic within Tubas city.
The project is composed from redesign of geometric for street and its cross sections. Design and operating this road will serve the traffic that comes from the major cities which Tubas connect, which intends to reduce traffic congestion within the city.
This project includes preparation of horizontal, vertical alignment, and typical cross-sections of the road, all the data needed such as contour is provided from Tubas Municipality. The design is performed based on AASHTO 2011 design criteria and using Civil 3D software.
Moreover, the design includes the design of intersections and pavement. The design process is in coordinated with Tubas Municipality as well as the calculation of quantities and costs related to the construction of the road.
It is worth to mention here is that the project is classified as community-based project as this project is coordinated between Tubas municipality and community development project center at An-Najah National University.
