Abstract
The idea of the project stems first from the urgent need for centers that provide the services needed by the Palestinian society as a whole and the Salfit community in particular. The Community Center is an institution that aims to create spaces for people to allow them to practice their hobbies and qualify in different fields. The center consists of two main sections consisting of several spaces, which were designed according to the functions that these spaces will serve. From the artistic and cultural spaces such as sewing rooms, embroidery, handicrafts, folklore, library and exhibitions to sports spaces such as closed playground and various sports spaces. These two sections share other public spaces, such as cafeterias and outer squares, which act as a link between the different groups of people in this center. On the architectural side, the design is modern, the spaces are clear and the shape is simple and easy for all categories of people to understand. As for the facades, it’s glass treated with sum breakers to reduce the heat gained inside the building, which creates a better environment for users to practice their hobbies with all ease.
