Abstract
The Palestinian society consist of several categories: child, teenagers, and elderly people. And because of elderly people are very important and sensitive category in the community, they need a special care of social, psychological, and health. So that elderly care home is very important to them, which is considered as a residential building for social care of elderly aged around 65 years, and provide them the necessary care and housing for the purposes of recreation, entertainment and psychological comfort. The project seeks to achieve the main objectives represented in the continuity of the elderly giving in the community through the provision of facilities, and building necessary for them, and it cares about entertainment purposes and psychological comfort.
During the course of this project an elderly care home was designed, and there was a literature review and two case study were taken in consideration: a local one and an international one, and all engineering disciplines were studied separately and then designed integratively: architectural, structural, environmental, and electromechanical, through some standards and codes.
At the end, it can be said that a good design for elderly care home will reflect the development of the community by showing its true meaning as a complete institution that cares about the elderly and makes them feel comfortable in their life.
