Abstract
This project is a commercial tower (Amar) which includes commercial shops, markets , offices and parking with different areas. Amar tower is located in Al-Ersal Street in Ramallah, it consists of 3 basement floors, one ground floor and 14 repeated floors with an area around to 27000 m2. This project is under construction and it is an ordinary reinforced concrete structure with using flat plate. The importance of this project is in studying pre stressed concrete and that while studying it , its types and the methods which are followed in designing it especially in pre stressed concrete slabs where the cable is stretched after the concrete is poured ( post tensioned ) . The structure is designed for the different horizontal and vertical loads. The latral loads include earthquake and wind forces. The structure is analyzed and designed as a 3-D building using the analysis and designing program (SAP 2000), the results which are obtained from the analysis are checked manually. The slab is analyzed and designed using two systems from flat plates (slabs without beams) which are pre stressed concrete and ordinary reinforced concrete. The thickness of the slab which is pre stressed is less than the thickness of the ordinary reinforced concrete slab and the amount of the steel for reinforcement is less than from pre stressed slab . But the cost of the cables and the cost of tensile is more than the execution works in the ordinary reinforced concrete slab . Finally executive plans are performed for the pre stressed slabs and also for the slab ordinary reinforced concrete .In addition to that the walls, columns and footings are designed. Structure is a system formed from the interconnection structural members or the shape or form that prevents buildings from being collapsed.  A structure supports the building by using a framed arrangement known as Structure.                                                                                        There are two important steps for the construction of a building :                                          Structural Analysis.         Structural Design.
