Abstract
Obviously, throughout the ages, the Palestinian economy was not developed and in every period of time it has been assaulted and suffered from destruction and marginalization, which led to deep imbalances that hampered it's growth and development. In addition to all the problems on the scene, a Palestinian state becomes the perfect choice to solve all of these problems. Now, based on this step, good preparation becomes an urgent need. And building an independent economy is essential. Thus, one of the most important ingredients is to construct banks. On the other hand, the interest in the luxury and attractive architectural design become one of this era requirements, which prompts us to keep up with these things by modern, safe and economical structural systems that achieve structural and architectural purposes. Thus, designing this bank is considered one of the most important things that may achieve above mentioned. Fortunately, one of the most important feature of this project is that it was designed architecturally in the academic year 2007/2008 according to modern international standards by the student Sufyan Sa'abneh and was supervised by professors of architecture department in An-Najah National University. Though this bank was designed to be a central bank, it will be designed as an Islamic bank in Rafeedya Nablus, in order to have a modern design for this type of banks which is desirable in Palestine. In addition to that features, structural diversity of small and large spans, circular elevations, straight elevations, extremely important rooms like safe and different types of non-structural elements are important features . Also, the main benefits that will be gotten are: team work and searching for information and checking it to use it properly. The essence of the graduation project and practical life is to face such problem and transform architectural plans for structural design that can be implemented on the ground by simulating the structure and all applied loads by computer software and using principles of structural design to obtain the perfect design. This project will be designed by using all of the available means by modifying the preliminary dimensions for the structure based on the final results that we got from 3D analysis, and make the optimization to get the probable structural system, in order to get the most safe and economic structure that achieves the international standards. Finally, all of the necessary plans that describe the final dimensions and all of the reinforcement details will be delivered to get our purpose which is to have a perfect safe design that resist gravitational and seismic loads to make this bank capable of being implemented on the ground. This abstract  was written as a general description of this work which has the same dual objectives as any graduation project: first to establish a firm understanding of the main objectives that will be gotten from structural design of this bank and why were this project selected ?, then to show most of information that will be used in this work. This bank was designed architecturally in the academic year 2007/2008 according to modern international standards by the student Sufyan Sa'abneh and was supervised by professors of architecture department in An-Najah National University. This central bank that is transformed to an Islamic bank which will build in Nablus/Rafeedya to enhance the reputation of this type of bank by modern architectural design and luxury with a perfect, safe, economic, and modern structural system that resist gravitational loads and seismic loads. On the other hand, the significance of this project is stemmed from the political reality on the scene. In general, this project recognized that mere training in special design skills, also this project features include not only using all of data and information that have been learnt in four years in structural engineering but also searching for needed information and use it properly. In addition to that features, structural diversity of small and large spans, circular elevations, straight elevations, extremely important rooms like safe and different types of non-structural elements are important features . This chapter is organized to include a specific description for the architectural design, materials that will be used, identify the loads and loads combinations that may be used, also the proposed structural systems, finally the site investigation and the results that was gotten from lab tests on the soil of the site.     The diversity of Bank's functions makes it has many different architectural design within the same building and also different from one story to another. Mainly, the architectural designer has tried to make his design as an ideal design to serve all of the functions but it has several structural defects thus the design has been modified in order to serve it's functions and to make it suitable for structural purposes. This bank consist of 12 stories, three basement floors. The first and second one are car parking for employees and customers, the last one has the main safes and car parking for armored cars of bank. Other 9 floors of the bank consist offices, auditorium and restaurant.
