Abstract
“Guardians Within” is a virtual reality game aimed to create a realistic experience inside the human body. This game is an educational game which would be of great importance to whoever has the urge of a better visualization of the human body, as it will also play a vital part in facilitating the learning in schools and universities. “Guardians Within” covers several essential aspects described as follows. First, As the game aims to simulate the human body in a realistic and educational approach, a handful knowledge of the human anatomy is required, covered in the scientific aspect of the project. Second, there’s the technical aspect that’s concerned with the actual creation of the game. This aspect mainly covers the design of the 3D components and the environment, then manipulating these objects in an intelligent manner described by the plot or the story of this game. Finally, how to combine all that and deploy it in virtual reality. As for the methodology, this game will cover a specific system in the body as a prototype, and it is mainly divided into three steps. The first is to acquire the needed knowledge to build the environment. And a medical research of the corresponding organs is required to complete the task. The second step would be the design of the environment and the 3D components using 3D modeling programs as 3D Max, as it helps optimize the job and reaches the aimed results perfectly. thirdly, combining all that in a program for 3D designs as Unity, to create the actual game with the effects and needed plot. Unity was chosen for this task, as it has several unique features that simplify the task in several manners. It makes it possible to create a cross-platform applications using the main C# code. It also consists of a huge assets store that can help a lot in filling the missing dots in the game. In addition to enormous tutorials and references that can be of a great help in designing the game. Finally, as the game is in virtual reality, a cardboard deployed by google would be used in creating this magnificent experience. This was the choice for the initial prototype of this game for its simplicity of deployment and affordable price.
