- ItemIllnesses and Health Services in Qalqilya District "A study in Medical Geography"(2013) Ahmed Yusuf Ahmed Shahwan; Dr. Ali Abdel Hamid; Dr.Zaher NazzalMessage dealt with the study of natural and human characteristics in the West Bank city of Qalqilya , and their impact on the spread of certain diseases and health status . It also aimed to clarify the extent of the spread of chronic diseases and other chronic conditions in the province . The study relied on the descriptive survey method as well as the analytical method , in addition to the use of the questionnaire tool to take a systematic random sample of community housing study in Qalqilya ( city , rural ) . The study showed the quality and distribution of health services available in Qalqilya , whether those governmental or non - governmental organizations or affiliated to charitable organizations or the International Relief Agency ( UNRWA ) . The results of the study indicated that there is a statistically significant relationship between family income and variable between the variable incidence of diseases in the city , and the reason for this is that the income of individuals in a specific city salaries or fixed income . The study also showed a statistically significant relationship between the variable housing and ownership between the variable incidence of diseases in the city due to living in the house is king in the city with limited income . The Aalentaúj also show a statistically significant relationship between a variable number of years of education of the father and the incidence of diseases in the city and the village. The results of the study also showed a statistically significant relationship between the variable life and variable between where diseases that the greater the age was more susceptible to disease and this is something obvious in light of the current prevalence of chronic diseases and vulnerability and malnutrition and air pollution . The study recommended the need to raise awareness of the health of citizens through the media centers and educational , and publications that contain information specific health diseases , and the school curriculum for school students of all ages , as well as preparation of a handbook annual Qalqilya and diseases it and their locations . The study also recommended the need to increase attention of health services in remote villages and especially for the county in proportion to the population size employers by increasing the time physicians in clinics for more than two days a week , and to provide these villages ambulances . Finally , the study recommended the following international standards as much as possible in the distribution of health services in the province
